The Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance presented by Rolex is an annual driving event that delights entrants and spectators alike.
Initiated to showcase the elegance of the automobile in motion, the Tour also underscores the early history of the place that is Pebble Beach. Decades before golf links were laid out along the edge of the Pacific Ocean, this area was known for its scenic drive, winding for miles through pine and cypress forest, dancing alongside dramatic cliffs and leading, ultimately, to a beautiful crescent-shaped bay. The traditional Tour traces portions of the original 17-Mile Drive, traverses nearby mountains and valleys, and pauses for a time in charming Carmel-by-the-Sea. Tour participants enjoy a catered gourmet lunch, a champagne celebration at the finish and commemorative gifts. The Tour is open to all entrants in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. And spectators are invited to view the Tour at key points along the route, particularly along Ocean Avenue in Carmel. It is important to note that the Tour and the Concours are directly linked. If two vehicles tie in class competition at the Concours, the vehicle that has successfully completed the Tour gets the nod. #pebblebeachtour
An intimate event by Monterey standards, Legends has been called “the best-kept secret on the peninsula” by several automotive writers. However, non-member guests are also welcome to stroll the grounds and admire these magnificent machines!Legends Of The Autobahn includes “club corral” parking for the three marques, and separate judging areas for each club. Participants may register either for the club corrals or concours judging. There may also be a separate parking area available for non-participants. #legends
Werks Reunion was created by the Porsche Club of America as an event to celebrate both the Porsche marque as well as the camaraderie of being an enthusiast. This is not a contest of who has removed dust from the deepest crevices in their Porsche but rather a judged show that rewards a Porsche that has been lovingly maintained and presents itself well on the field. Our judges do not use Porsche Parade Concours score sheets but rather rank the cars according to certain attributes discussed prior to judging. For those who do not wish to have their cars judged, you may display in the model specific corrals or if the organizers see fit, on the judged field itself. There are no score sheets returned or protest committees. This is a casual gathering of Porsche enthusiasts focused on having fun rather than solely competition. #werksreunion

Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race. Approximately 550 race cars are invited to compete in the world’s premier motoring event, and are accepted based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness.
The event relives motorsport history at the iconic circuit, which has been the scene of America’s golden years of sports car racing since its inception in 1957. In addition to the entertaining on-track action, there are always engaging autograph opportunities with legendary drivers, Q&A sessions, and fine wine and cheese tastings among the myriad activities. #lagunaseca
Concorso Italiano® has evolved into a must-attend convergence of sophistication, taste and affluence and embraces all the cultural elements of Italian style, including music, cuisine, fashion, and travel. The event is centered around as many as 1,200 collectible Italian automobiles, motorcycles, and boats. Non-Italian exotic and classic automobiles are also welcomed and represent a significant contingency as well. The Concorso emphasizes display and appreciation over competition and although the cars are truly magnificent, this event is not just about cars; it's about people too; widely recognized as a fun yet sophisticated event where you can really enjoy yourself #concorsoitaliano
Car collectors worldwide dream of competing at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where the famed 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links is the stage and the rolling Pacific Ocean serves as backdrop.
Begun in 1950, this concours is the top-ranking collector car competition in the world. It is also the event to which most other modern concours now trace their roots. Initially modeled on the early European concours that showcased new cars, the Pebble Beach Concours shifted its focus to collector cars in 1955—and other concours followed suit. It has also taken the lead by including racing greats and offering featured marques and special classes as early as 1953, introducing displays of dream cars and concepts in the 1980s, and instituting driving events and emphasizing the importance of preservation in the 1990s.
Guided by—and often driving—the interests of enthusiasts the world over, this concours continues to set the bar for all others.
The concours d'elegance is not a contest of speed, but of elegance. Automobiles are judged for their style and technical merit, as well as their history, their originality and the accuracy of their preservation or restoration—and the best garner reward and recognition.
The 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance will featured the following marques and special classes among others:
Bugatti Race & Touring Cars
Historic Hot Rod "Cover Cars"
Additional features to be announced soon

We've been coming to Monterey for the car week every year since 1995 and since then have seen it's evolution. We like to attend as many events as possible but at the same time like to enjoy ourselves at a leisurely pace. Let me cover some basic ground rules.
#1. Thing to remember: Bring patience’s.....
It changes constantly, from 50 and misty at the coast in the morning to 90+ at the race track. Wear layers and pack, hats, sunscreen, water, a blanket to sit on, snacks, a camera, sunglasses, and earplugs. They’ll come in handy at every event.
If its on the grass dress up. Men are encouraged to wear jackets, ladies a dress and fine hat. You’ll be walking quite a bit so wear comfy shoes and please stiletto heels. At the track comfort is key so closed toe shoes and casual wear. At night , its usually cocktail attire.
It's thick just about everywhere so plan ahead and leave early. Remember local weekday traffic heavily affects Hwy 1 & 68. Knowing your route in advance will make your time more pleasant and you can circumvent many of the usual traffic snarls. Use your favorite traffic app and plan accordingly.
Arriving early is key! Some events have VIP packages that include rockstar parking and IMO it’s worth the money. Also public transportation and ride sharing are smart options. We used Uber last Year to get around in Monterey and Carmel. You can also take public Transportation up to Laguna Seca too.
Dining & Drinking:
Pace yourself the days are long and mornings come early. Have a light healthy breakfast but don’t over do it since there’s plenty to eat and at the events. Save your big meals for dinner time. Carmel for the upscale, Munras or Cannery Row in Monterey for some nightlife. One of our long-time favorites is Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley, if Gearheads and Margaritas are your thing.
How to get here-
Drive: If you have time then a road trip in is a great way to kick off the week. From Bay area or Los Angeles. Hwy 1/17/101 are some of the most breathtaking roads in the country, so find a little extra time it’s worth the adventure and adds to the journey. Just check for construction in advance.
Fly: If you have the means I suggest flying into the monterey jet center However you must plan in advance. for the rest of us San Jose is about 1.5 hours from the peninsula. rent something fun & take HWY 17 to Santa Cruz and then merge into Hwy 1/101. If you’re hungry stop at the Lighthouse Harbor Grille in Watsonville for some yummy deep fried artichokes.
Where to lay your head-
Plan early and if you find a place you like book it for next year before you checkout! Yes lodging is at a premium so unless you want to stay in Santa Cruz book in far in advance.
Will you spend more time at the Laguna Seca? Try camping trackside or stay in Salinas.
We've used air BNB the last few years and have had very good luck.
My advice is eat food indigenous to your surroundings. If you recognize the sign from home go somewhere else. Use Yelp as your guide. Pack a picnic basket when going to an event. Tarpy's is a must stop and just minutes from many of the weeks events. On Sunday if you can get into to the Tap room at Pebble Beach get the burger (bacon is a must). The Baja Cantina on Carmel Valley Road has Mexican fare and an amazing collection of local racing memorabilia. For something on upscale side try downtown Carmel. Yelp local food here.
